The central aspects of our research project are the developement and communication of software and concepts on the subject digital edition of music. That's why we closely cooperate with editors of current edition projects - theses are being trained by us in order to enhance their productivity by utilising our software.

The idea of Digital Music Edition does not only describe new publication media; new target formats also alter the editor' mode of operation and their thinking on the subject-matter gains new perspectives. In this section you can find short contributions giving an insight into the versatile aspects of Digital Music Edition; topics ranging from technical fundamentals ÜBER field reports to edition-philologic considerations.
Funded by the DFG the Edirom-project has dedicated itself to the developement of tools for digital forms of scholarly-critical music editions. More detailed information on the project can be found here.

First, to enable, then to optimize and finally to redefine workflows in the digital media calls for familiarity with common working processes.
